William 'Bill' Peck was born in 1862 in Lower Hutt
* son of Richard Peck (1836-1903) & Elizabeth Gaskin (1835-1917)
He married Minnie Sargent (1878-1918) on 14 May 1901 in Wimbledon, Manawatu
* Minnie was a sister of Jane Sargent who married William's brother Daniel Peck
BUSH ADVOCATE, 23 May 1901
A quiet wedding took place at Wimbledon on May 14th, the contracting parties being Mr William Peck, second son of Mr Richard Peck, of Dannevirke, and Miss Minnie Sargent, youngest daughter of Mr John Sargent, of Lake Farm. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. A. Grant, of Dannevirke. Miss Mary Bond, niece of the bride, acted as bridesmaid. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr George E. S. Sargent, was tastefully attired in a plain figured muslin gown. After the ceremony about 60 guests sat down to dinner, which was provided by the bride's parents. A large number of presents were received, showing the esteem in which the young couple are held. A dance was held in the evening in the woolshed, which was decorated with evergreens. After the dance the bride and bridegroom left for their home amidst the good wishes of everyone present

* 1905 - 1942 William Peck
married Laura Rose Jensen (1906-1999) in 1926
William died Xmas Day 1942 and is buried in Mangatera. Laura remarried. Her ashes are buried with her parents, Hans Rudolph Christian Jensen & Edith May (Taylor) at Mangatera Cemetery, Dannevirke under the name Johnston
* 1904 - 1971 Richard John Peck
married Alma Doris Irene Brannigan (1905-1984) in 1927
They are buried together at Papakura cemetery
Minnie Peck died 28 Nov 1918 during the Flu Pandemic at Waione. She was 40
William 'Bill' Peck died 3 years later
Manawatu Standard, 25 Aug 1921 DEATH
William Peck, a settler at Waione, was found hanging from the ceiling in a woolshed. The inquest showed that deceased had been despondent of late and worrying over the prospective prices of wool and mutton during the coming season. He told a neighbour that he would be better dead. The coroner found that death was due to strangulation through hanging while suffering from mental depression

I have some information but not a lot if your interested in it.
Samuel George Peck married Joyce Dalgleish. Samuel died 1988 Joyce is still alive. Their childeren are Barry Peck, Gregory Peck, Lawson Peck (deceased), and Jewel Peck. I have all of their children also if you want to add them. Dororthy Peck died around about 1990 in Napier everyone knew her as Dot but I can probably find out a bit more. Richard Peck I know existed but nothing other than that.

braceyk on 2010-08-04 20:31:30Hi, im researching my background and at the moment know that William peck (Deceased) was my grandfather,his son William Charles Ringrose was 3 months old when his father passed,he has two brothers Brian (deceased)George who is living in Brisbane and a sister Dorothy who lives in Opotiki NZ,Bill Ringoses mum who was Edna Sylvia Cleary did not marry William but had these four children,Edna married Thomas Ewen Ringrose,this is where the Ringrose comes in to it and they had two children Gale and Thomas,this is all I have at the moment,hope it helps with your search as well

I am a direct descendant of William Peck also, daughter of George Ringrose. I had done some research and got as far as Korina. I work with a Peck and it turns out her family has done quite a bit of work on the Peck family tree. I was able to trace William in it and our grandfathers apx 5 generations ago were brothers. Small world.

I came on these posts by accident and found them very interesting. A few corrections though. Edna Cleary married Thomas Edward Ringrose (my father)and not Thomas Ewen (thats me :))
Gale Ringrose ( Now Taylor) is Gael.
I am interested in compiling a Ringrose family tree and would like to hear from anyone who has some info.
