Dear Allycat,Jonas Binns is my family tree. You seem to have the different generation of the 3 Jonas Binns.
The First Jonas(1) came from England and the British Army his last posting was in the Hill Tribe. He was in the first Police force in 1854 in Melbourne. Then he married Mary Cleary in Melbourne. They had 6 Children John(Died as Infant)Then John ,Jonas(2),Hannah,Joseph,George.(Born At Mountain Hut near Avoca in Country Victoria.)
Jonas(2) married Juliahannah
Mary Rowe and George married Rosetta Caroline Rowe. Two Rowe sisters married two Binns brothers.Jonas and Julia had 12 children. My Grandfather was the 10th Child Norman Victor Binns who was born in Womerlang in country Victoria in the Wimmera. The first 6 children of Jonas and Julia were born in Nhill. Jonas(3) was my grandfathers brother.George and Rosetta had 13 Children. They also had Jonas as one of their 13 children.George and Rossetta stayed in Nhill and their children mainly stayed around Nhill.I do have more info .We might be facing fires tonight down here in Diamond Creek in Melbourne.Need to go Cheers
Dear Glenda, Hi. At the time I had tried to see what info I could find on your 'Jonas BINNS', not knowing that there were more than a couple of them. Can get confusing I would imagine.
Send me a personal message expanding on your BINNS tree and I'll see what else I can find.
Take care, Alison.
I'm a descendant of Jonas Binns and Julihannah Rowe, was wondering if you could share some info on the original Jonas. I know he was a policeman from his marriage reg. and also government gazette but nothing further on this. Also I have an article from SA newspaper regarding Mary Binns (Cleary) death which mentions her husband was late of the His Majesty's Indian Army, I imagine this is what you are referring to? I don't have any info about that either and not sure where to start with the British Army so anything you might share would be great.
