Any information on William Belton please.He married Mary Ace who was born in Oxwich Glamorgan Wales 22/10/1848.They came to N.Z and had nine children.Mary Jane,Edith, sophie,Bessie, Rose,Charles,Emily,Violet, Ruth and ann.I think all the children were born in N.Z I think William died 1907 and Mary 1937.They are buried at Kamo cemetery in Whangarei N.Z

In their marriage records he is shown as William BETTON. They married 1872 in Gower, Glamorgan. Quarter 2, volume 11a, page 968a if you want to order the certificate, which would give you their ages and names and occupation of respective fathers.

This came from the record of "England & Wales Marriages 1837 - 2005. You can order a copy certificate from the site listed below. It is a UK government site and you will need the information I have given above ie Year, quarter, volume and page. The last time I ordered they were about 9.75 pounds sterling including postage. Their firstborn was William Belton who was born in 1872 in Wales and travelled to NZ with his parents on the Forfarshire in 1875. I am also descended from this line . Please feel free to contact me if you would like further information .

That sounds very interesting . My grandmother Bertha was the first born of William Belton ( the third ) . Hope this explains it . So many things I would like to know .... Thanks

yes how interesting.Bertha's father william & Mary Jane were brother & sister.My mother Mabel Evelyn 1st born of Mary Jane & clement Norman Flyger a 1st cousin to Bertha.I have childhood memory of travelling from hometown Hamilton to Hikurangi to visit who we called "auntie Dolly "& her sister Phyllis!I am happy to share any records of the family
