BRERETON OF ACTON NANTWICH

Query by MJL

I am researching my family tree (Brereton) and seem to have reached a full stop at the marriage of Richard Brereton (father John Brereton) and Elizabeth Renewicke at Acton 12th March 1657. Has anyone come across this marriage in their family tree? Also, does anyone have any information about the origins of the Brereton family in Nantwich? I know about the Battle of Nantwich. Were they there before this time?
Thanks in advance for any help

Have you found any more about Richard and Elizabeth? Richard's father John seems to have married Anne Gardner of Bunbury Parish at Bunbury Church in 1632. I would love to know how John fits in with the wider Brereton family tree but I fear that is research that will have to wait until I have more time available. I have read that the Bishops transcripts for Acton Parish go slightly further back than the records found on IGI but I have not yet checked for more Brereton records there.

How strange to get a message from you. My eldest brother was called Roger Brereton, sadly died in 1987 aged only 45 years. You will have to bear with me on this, haven't done any research for a while so have lost the thread. Will pick it up again probably after Xmas now. Let me know if you have any more info
