edmondsallan - hi every one . sorry for the delay , I have been doing another Spanish connection re Spain / Philippines / Mexico - 1587.family descendants who started on the Basque Border area,northern Spain ? France and some info came thro on the other computer. I had to answer another fellow geneologist in Spain . Ok where are we ???? ----- Research file > todays workfile .>>> Right . " HANSENS 1762 nz.

I have a family chart here on our " NZ Hansens " who landed with Samuel Marden 1814 or their early BDM records .They are as follows ;

We can see already that some of these surnames are in the " Maori Edmonds " ancestry index of names . If we research further into our Northland / Auckland / Waikato early history many off shoots of those names were settlers across those areas . The connecting link between this family of " Hansens " is the Ancestry of " Samuel John Edmonds" -thro a Robert Hansen / related to the Cross Family. Further Maori connections come thro from the " Rangihoua Tribe " What have we found is = Early Maori ( 1800 - 1850 ) is linked to " The Thomas Hansen descendants who in turn are linked to the Tonga - " Hansens " ok - till we meet again - regards - edmondsallan

Would love to know more about link between Robert Hansen and maori people of Rangihoua tribe. I am direct descendant of Captain Thomas Hansen who brought Samuel Marsden to NZ on his ship the 'Active'

geoff, if you follow the info on the hansens given . then go on computer and ask it to find the info in New zealand it should all happen - regards allan
