Rev Robert Hutchison Catherwood was born 15 March 1870, in Merton Otago. He was a son of Alfred Catherwood (1832-1908) & Isabella Hutchison (1835-1905) who married in Glasgow 3 Jan 1859 and emigrated to NZ on the ship "Silistria" arriving in Port Chalmers 25 Oct 1860

* 1867 Mary Catherwood
* 1870 Robert Hutchison Catherwood
They lived in Merton, Owaka & Southland.
Alfred had blocks of land in Maniototo and Catlins that he leased out.

* Interesting that in 1893 Robert (his son), transferred a portion of a perpetual lease on a block of land in Catlins to him

* Isabella died 20 Oct 1905 at Waimatuku, Southland and Alfred died 18 March 1908 also at Waimatuku, Southland. They are buried together at Eastern Cemetery

I am researching the ancestors of Rev Robert Hutchinson Catherwood born Orkney, Scotland? ca 1875. He served in NZ as a Presbyterian Minister from 1903. Died 1938 in Otago. Can anyone help?

A correction to my earlier message. RH Catherwood was born in Otago NZ in 1870 son of Alfred and Isabella Catherwood. Would appreciate any info on this family. Alfred may have arrived in NZ around 1860 from Glasgow.
