Marian Eliza 'Daisy' Agassiz
- was born 2 June 1880 in Oxford, Christchurch
- in December 1891 Daisy won an 'attendnce prize' at the East Christchurch School
- she married James Edward Fobert BARNES (1872-1933) son of James Edward BARNES, a Shepherd & Emily Sara MASON of Hawarden, North Canterbury, on 27 Dec 1899 in St Lukes Church Christchurch. The marriage was performed by the Venerable Archdeacon Edward Atherton LINGARD who was assisted by 2 of her uncles from Manston, Yorkshire, the Reverends Hugh Henry Scrivener HAMILTON (1848-1945 who married Margaret Walker FRANCE 1876 in Yorkshire, had 6 children in NZ & died in Gisborne) & Thomas Albert HAMILTON (1849-1937 who married Lavinia Charlotte WOODFIELD, had 13 children in Canterbury NZ & died in Christchurch)

- Marion & James moved to Pahiatua in 1904

- born 3 May 1900 in Hawarden, North Canterbury
- James was a Farmer
- he married Ivy WELCH in 1929. Ivy was a daughter of William Edward WELCH & Ellen TANNAHILL
- he died on 7 July 1975 aged 75 at 14 Lansdowne Crescent Masterton
- he is buried in Grave 68 - Block AB at Mangaoranga, Eketahuna
- his HEADSTONE reads: In loving memory of James Carrington Barnes, died 7th July 1975, aged 75 years. Ivy Barnes, died 8th July 1984, aged 79 years. Ngaire Lina Barnes, died 11th Aug. 1949, aged 13 years

1901 - 1989 Lewis Agassiz Barnes
- born 30 October 1901 in Hawarden, North Canterbury
- educated Konini Primary School, Pahiatua High School, passed Public Service Entrance exam, St Johns Evangelist College Auckland, got a BA & MA at Auckland Univeristy, BD in Otago, became a deacon in 1925 & priest in Wellington 1926, vicar in Raetihi, Kiwitea, Temuka, Timaru, and Fendalton, chaplain at Mt Kenya and at age 64 he was assistant chaplain in Christchurch at Public Hospital, Princess Margaret Hospital & Sunnyside Mental Hospital. In 1971 aged 70 he was a Minister in Waikato, living at 52 Kowhai St Hamilton
- MARRIAGE - on 7 December 1927 at St Paul's Pro-Cathedral, Wellington, by the Right Reverend the Lord Bishop of Wellinton, assisted by the Venerable Archdeacon, A.M. Johnson, M.A., Lewis Agossiz, second son of Mr and Mrs J.F. Barnes of Konini, to Mercia Marguerite, youngest daughter of Mrs and the late Ivan CLARKE of Epsom, Auckland
- Mercia was born in 1899 & was buried in Purewa, Auckland in 1987
- Lewis died 22 October 1989 in Hamilton. His burial not yet found but there are some of his children buried in Hamilton Cemetery

1904 - 1999 Geoffrey Roland Barnes
- born 25 November 1904 in Konini, Pahiatua
- married Elizabeth Osborn LUND (1904-1974)
- Elizabeth was one of 6 children of Olaf LUND & Isabella Margaret OSBORN, the first primary school teacher in the small district of Marima, Pahiatua

1906 - 1983 Cecil Edward Barnes
- born 25 April 1906 in Konini, Pahiatua
- Cecil was a Dairy Farmer in No 1 Line R.D. 5 Palmerston North
- he died 28 Feb 1983
- his ashes are buried Plot 043 - Block 008 - Area Q at Kelvin Grove

1908 - ? Kathleen Elizabeth Barnes
- nothing known


- James & Marian were Farmers in Konini, Pahiatua, arriving there from Canterbury in 1904 with their first 2 sons
- James died 11 December 1933 aged 61
- he is buried Grave 26 - Plot 12 - Block 2 at Mangatainoka Cemetery
- Marion died 12 April 1969 aged 88 in Pahiatua
- she had been living at 5 Mangahao Rd, Pahiatua
- she is buried with her husband James who died 36 years previously
- their HEADSTONE reads: In loving memory of James Edward Forbert Barnes, died Dec. 11 1933, aged 61 years. And his wife Marion Eliza Barnes, died April 12 1969, aged 88 years
