RIP Ray Albress :(

I had planned to contact you to discuss our family but have learnt the hard way to never put things off too long.

Hello, I am Kerry-Ann Craven, Ray Abbesses' cousin and a member of the Queensland Albress family. Ray passing is so unexpected and sad and I wish I had been able to see him before he passed and have a great chat about our family history. He did send me quite a bit of research he had done which I was so grateful for.
Having just retired I have time to devote to the family research. I have done quite a bit many years ago (about 30 years ago I corresponded with an Albress descendent Lorraine Burgess here in Melbourne who shared many photos etc) We have lost touch over the years.
I moved from Queensland to Melbourne 8 years ago and settled in Seaford and was delighted to discover the Albress family history on the Peninsula. It was a great moment to visit Antonio's grave in the Rye cemetery and to know that an area I love and was drawn to carried the spirit of my ancestors.

My mother Marie Grace Craven (nee Albress, formerly Gilligan - pervious marriage)was John Albress's sister. My grandfather was Arthur Stanley Albress, son of Maria Albress, daughter of Antonio Albress.
My grandfather's birth certificate does not include father's name so he is illegitimate. It is frustrating to have a missing link in the chain but I don't have much info about my grandmother Maria around this missing link. Bit tricky.
I am also fascinated by the "Jamaican" connection with Thomas Alexander Bennett. Does anyone know if he was native Jamaican descent or English descent or mixed race? I would love to know.
I would so appreciate any info you have or anyone reading this has on my lineage.
Thanks Kerry-Ann
