DETTMER in London

Journal by BunyipBluegum

George DETTMER was a piano maker in London in the 1700s, setting up a business in Marylebone. We think he and his wife Ann came from Germany, but we don't know for sure. Has anyone researched this family?

His son, William David DETTMER, married Mary BETTS about 1775, and later her sister Phyllis Betts. Both in London. But where did the Betts girls come from?

Most of that seems to be pretty good without checking every single date.
I have seen the name Ann Robinson (for George's wife) on someone's tree, but I have never seen the evidence. I guess I was expecting a German name. Can anyone clarify this?
