PASSENGERS per Steamer DORIC from London
... The New Zealand Shipping Company's chartered steamer Doric, Captin Jennings, which arrived to-night from London (28th August), Plymouth (30th August) and Hobart (12th August), bring the passengers, being close upon 500:-

ARRIVAL OF THE DORIC AT WELLINGTON - 17 October 1884
... The Doric came into harbor early this morning. She called at Teneriffe, Capetown and Hobart. Her actual steaming time was 44 days, 15 hours and the time for the voyage 47 days 6 hours.
On the 2nd September, a second saloon passenger for Auckland, named Albert Greenwood, aged 26, was found to be missing. He was last seen at 12 o'clock the previous night, and is believed to have jumped overboard. No cause is assigned.
