Children of James DOWNS and Mary BEVERIDGE.

James and Mary had their first child in South Australia in 1855 but I have not located a marriage record for them and expect they were married before they arrived.

I have not been able to locate their arrival in South Australia so unable to say if they arrived with other children.

Possible death for James is 1911 in Bendigo, Victoria, aged 83 years. Parents recorded as Hugh DOWNS and Margaret MARTIN.

Mary died 1885 in West Hotham, Victoria, aged 58 years. Parents recorded as James HAMILTON and Jane MACKIE.

Six children located South Australia and Victorian records for James and Mary.

Died: 1913 Bendigo, Victoria, aged 58 years.
Buried: Bendigo Cemetery, 02 November 1913, as Jean McKay DOWNES.


Sarah Ann DOWNS.
Born: 1857 Sandhurst, Victoria.
Died: 1946 Cheltenham, Victoria, aged 87 years.


Hugh Edgar DOWNS.
Born: 1860 Bendigo, Victoria.
Died: -
Married: Jessie HAMILTON.
Year: 1887.
Place: Victoria.

Died: 1944 Edenhope, Victoria, aged 83 years.

Born: 1867 White Hills, Victoria.
Died: 1943 Northcote, Victoria, aged 77 years.
Married: Muriel Rosalind JORDAN.
Year: 1920.
Place: Victoria.
