Upon the death of Mr. NABSTEDT, Joseph and 2 others purchased the business from the NABSTEDT family. In 1960, Joseph retired as president of the jewelry co in Davenport.
Martha MANLEY ELDRDGE was a credit clerk for the largest department store in Davenport - Petersen-Harned-Von Maur, formerly the Boston Store, for 20 years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Cathedral and Our Lady of Lourdes Circle (Bettendorf, Iowa church), Daughters of Isabella. Martha died 8 Apr 1947 in Davenport and is buried with Joseph in Davenport's Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

She had 3 HART children by her first marriage.
