The funeral will leave Northcote Ferry for Auckland (12.30 p.m. boat) to-morrow (Wednesday) for Purewa Cemetery
- Sarah is buried Block D Row 23 Plot 079 at Purewa cemetery
- her husband Albert Edward Deveson was a Land Agent in Auckland. He remarried in 1916 to FLorence Maria CALLAGHAN (1883-1961).
- He died 14 Nov 1948 and his ashes are in the COLUMBARIUM NICHE WALL VLT Row Vlt, Plot 3VL at Waikumete, Auckland. Florence also died on 14 Nov (1961) and her ashes scattered from Waikumete

... The death is recorded of Mr T. Jaspers, at Northcote, Auckland. eceased, who was 72 years of age, resided in Eketahuna for eight years, and was respected by all with whom he came in contact. Deceased leaves a wife and a large family of sons, the majority of whom are still residents of this district

... Thomas Janes Jaspers embarked from Wellington in WWI as Rifleman 23187 with the NZRB, 4th Reinforcements 4th Battalion, H Company. His next of kin was his mother Emily Bethia Jaspers of Waimana Ave., Northcote, Auckland. He was slighty wounded in Oct 1916 but remained with his unit


7 Dec 1916 (7th born Herbert leaves for war)
... Herbert Edward Jaspers embarked from Wellington in WWI as Private 30594 with the NZEF, 20th Reinforcements Wellington Infantry Battalion, B Company. His next of kin was his mother Mrs Thomas Jaspers of Sackville St., Grey Lynn, Auckland. In June 1918 Herbert was officially reported as a prisoner of war in Germany. Emily was then recorded as being in Eketahuna. He was repatriated in Dec 1918

Edward Carr Jaspers, son of their 8th born, Percival Jaspers & Margaret 'Maggie' Murray was killed while on Active Service in a Motor Cycle Accident at Oxford Circus, Western Desert, Egypt, 3 days after his 26th birthday. He was born in Waipawa, Hawkes Bay. He served as Corporal 3672 with the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force (2NZEF), 1st Echelon, 4 Reserve Mechanical Transport Company. His next of kin was his father at 'Bellwood', Tahunanui, Nelson

15 Feb 1943 - (death of a grandson of Emily & Thomas)
... born in 1912 to Percival Jaspers & Maggie Murray, Joseph Thomas Jaspers. a Truckdriver, was caught in the belting of the stone-crushing plant in Waihopai riverbed. Mr Joseph Thomas Jaspers, a married man, aged 30, of Nelson, suffered fatal injuries. The accident occurred at knock-off time on Saturday after the engine had been actually turned off. Mr Jaspers fell against the main belt and the last revolutions of the machinery dragged him round, inflicting terrible leg injuries. He died shortly afterwards in the Tairau Hospital
