I am at a brick wall once I get to my ggg grandfather, Frederick Somers, who was born in 1803 in either CT or NY and who lived in Dover, NY for most of his life. Can anyone help me to get past this wall? Thanks!

Death: Jul. 7, 1876
According to the census above Frederick was born 1794 his death states 1803 so it might be worth looking between 1790-1810
susanbradbury on 2013-01-26 18:11:37Hi, Yes, that is my family. Frederick died in Michigan but his gravestone is in Dover, New York (actually Wingdale). I have visited his stone several times and my husband posted in on Find A Grave. I have traced the family to Michigan and onward but have not been able to go back beyond Frederick. I have tried both CT and NY but have found no families that sound like they could be the right one. Thank you for your post - do you have a connection to either the Somers or Marcy families?
