Gillett family tree of the small village of Urchfont Wiltshire.

I am working on the history of the Gillett family of the small village of Urchfont in Wiltshire, so far I am back to my 11th Great Grandfather born about 1555. I may be able to help with anybody researching the Gillett's of that area, or if anybody has any information on the Gillett family, I would be grateful. The Gillett's have been in England since 1066.

His grandfather is William (James) Gillett (b.1888) and his father is Charles Gillett (b.1865) who married Rose then Elizabeth. Charles's siblings were Albert and Thomas, are these in your tree?

Yes they are in my tree.James William Gillett born Urchfont 1888 baptised 5 Feb 1888.
Between 1891 and 1901 they moved from Urchfont to Aldbourne. His father Charles born Urchfont 1861 baptised 2 June 1861.He married Rose Ann Giddings in 1884, she died in 1897 probably giving birth to Rose born 1897,he then married Elizabeth (Betsy) Rose in 1906 in All Cannings.If I work it out correct your husband and I have the same 4th great grandfather, Edward Gillett born 1779 in Urchfont, I was born in Urchfont in 1946.My grand mother was Emma Gillett/Harnish born Urchfont 1896.

Hi, yes that is correct small world, my father-in-law was born in Uchfont in 1928, I do have a photo of Tom Gillett (married Carry Maslen - and yes actor Scott Maslen's family came from Urchont)if you send me your email address I will send it to you mine's Karenlgillett@aol.com do you still live in Wiltshire?
