Hi ,The earliest I go back on the CHAMPION line is JOHN CHAMPION born 1710 who married ANN FOICE . These all came from Billingshurst in Sussex

I have been researching the name Foice as a christian name for some years. My first one was born around 1745 (or slightly earlier) and I found him as father to 4 children in Arundel. Surname Fillary. Another Fillary family in Horsham Surrey have the Foice/Voice name too. I am led to believe that the mother of this family Sarah, had a maiden name of Ffoice and married James Fillary in 1730 in Billingshurst. Other trees show a son Voice Fillary b.1738 but nothing after date of birth. So is Foice and Voice one and the same and intrigued that Billingshurst links to to the name Foice too!

Hi Rosalee, My connection to the FOICE nnnname is from a man named FOICE CHAMPION born 1736. His mother was ANN VOICE .Her father was RICHARD FOYCE born 1679. His father was WILLIAM FOYCE born1640 .his father was JOHN VOYCE born 1615 .His father was JOHN VOICE born 1578.His father was BRYAN VOYCE born1544 His father was HENRY VOYCE born 1507 .His father was RICHARD FOYS born 1465. His father was JOHN FOYS born 1435 And his father was HUGH FOYS born 1399.This is not my research and I can't put my hands on my notes at the moment. I think if you google one of the above names you might link in to more info. .Iv'e not come across a Fillary name but will look out for it . It seems the spelling of the names changed all the time. I'm on 01202520562 if you want more info .Regards Pat
