Hi Michelle
I hope it is OK that I have put these comments down.
The Anglican St Paul's Register New Zealand has an entry for Harriet Harper age 28 years who died 7 June 1845 and was buried 9 June 1845. Cemetery records Symonds Street, Auckland. I believe Harriet died arising from complications to the birth of Sarah. I believe Sarah was her daughter.
The Anglican St Paul's Register New Zealand has Sarah Harper age 3 days who died 9 Jun 1845 and was buried 10 Jun 1845 at the Symonds Street cemetery Auckland (Buried the day after Harriet) I believe this child is Henry & Harriet's and that Harriet died the day after giving birth due to complications. (I do not have these certificates to prove my theory)
Henry Harper and Harriet Floyd married 24 March 1834 at Buckland, Monachorum, Devon, England

I have Ellen Harper (BRAY) parents as William BRAY and Ann BARRETT and not as James Trewartha Bray as appeared on a family tree that was given to me over 30 years ago. James Trewartha Bray is the brother to William Trewartha Bray the Cornish Miners Preacher. This is what I found whilst looking at this family:
SOURCE: Cornwall Quarter Sessions dated 19 April 1803 has an entry for the removal of Ann Bray, widow of William Bray, Jun., and their children William Trewortha (8), James Trewortha (7), Frances (4), Ann (2), and Mary (8 months) from Kea. Trewartha is spelt Trewortha in this case. This indicates William had died prior to this date and as Mary is 8 months old William would have died between 1802 and 1803.
Also notes in Billy Bray's Journal indicates his father died whilst he was very young and they went to live with his Grandfather William Bray Snr a devout methodist.

Source: Cornwall Parish Register confirms date and year.
William BRAY married Ann TREWARTHA 27 Jan 1794
The family already had the date but the year was undecipherable.
District: Kea
Children to this couple were:
William Trewartha BRAY (known as Billy BRAY the Preacher) married Joahanna BRAY
James Trewartha BRAY married ?? (Old family tree had James as Ellen Brays father)married to an Ann
Frances BRAY married James VERRAN 20 Dec 1827 (children: James, Samuel and Mary Ann)
Ann Trewartha BRAY could not find a record of her having married.
Mary BRAY have not found a record of her marrying either but did not complete the search.

Hi Scott
Henry James Harper was born 1812 at Bere Alston, Devon, died 1877 at Welshmans Reef, Victoria

He was the son of Samuel Harper (born 1775 at Towednack, Cornwall, died 1836 at St Austell) and Mary Testick (born 1785 at Redruth, died 1834 at St Austell)

Samuel was the son of Samuel Harper (born 1743 at Redruth, died 1818 at St Agnes) and Alice White (born 1741, no death date)

Samuel was the son of Samuel Harper (born 1706, died 1771) and Alice Richards (1700-1748)

The information on Henry James Harper's death cert is incorrect re his parents.

Samuel Harper and Mary Testick had 12 children, many of whom ventured to Australia and New Zealand

hope this helps
C Harper
