HART Families in the Western New York Counties of Orleans, Monroe, and Wyoming

Journal by JonathanHart

I'm hoping to find any fellow descendants of the Hart family that emigrated from Ireland in 1834 and settled in Kendall, NY. Of their nine children, three of them moved to what would become Smiths Creek, Michigan, in 1856, while four others remained in Western New York; of the two daughters, one died shortly after childbirth in 1841, and nothing is know about the other.

The four sons who remained in New York are:

Thomas Hart - b.1811, d.1892; married Amy Buck and lived in the village of Kendall Mills, NY (now part of the town of Hamlin).

Joseph Hart - b.1815, d.1869; married Elzina Nelson and lived in Kendall, NY.

Samuel Hart, Jr. - b. 1816, d.1890; married Nancy Underwood and lived in Attica, NY.

William Hart - b.1826, d.1911; married Helen L. Whitehouse and lived in the village of Hindsburg, NY (now part of the town of Murray).

Their parents were Samuel Hart and Charlotte Marrow, who were both born around 1790, and died around 1856. Samuel's father was most likely born in Scotland and fled to Ireland during the Highland Clearances of 1785.

Though there were prominent Hart families in the counties of Orleans and Monroe at that time, there is no known relation to these Harts, even after DNA testing.

If you are related in any way to these Harts, please contact me.
