Hi Killinj

Your request gives very little details as to where you live & what country.
However, you should begin your search with your birth certificate.
This should state your parents names?

Secondly as you were adopted, ask your adoptive parents as to which agency you were adopted through.
Ask as to what town or city you were born in, obviously you should know your date of birth.
You can check out most births online through either Ancestry or Find my Past.
The Salvation Army also assist with searching for children who were adopted out, if not contact the local Social Services for the area in which you think that you were born are also a good option.
Most adoptions have to go through some official authority before it can take place, therefore when you get in touch with Social Services they should give you the best advice as to how to proceed.

Good luck with your search - any questions - just contact me at Rickarbyroots
Regards
Jane
