MY GREAT UNCLE JOHN CHARLES HERBERT WAS KILLED ON JULY 14TH 1916 AT THE BATTLE OF THE SOMME AND IS COMMEMORATED AT THIEPVAL FRANCE. DOES ANYONE HAVE A PHOTO OF HIM? I HAVE PHOTOS OF ALL HIS BROTHERS AND SISTER BUT I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW WHAT HE LOOKED LIKE.

Hi Pollywolly,
By adding this extra info I hope that someone will recognise John and hopefully be able to provide you with a photo

John Charles HERBERT served as Private 11642 with the 7th Battalion Leicestershire Regiment. His parents were John & Elizabeth Annie Herbert of 4 Marsden Terrace, Lutterworth, Leicestershire
He died aged 21 (born about 1895) and is commemorated at Pier and Face 2 C and 3 A at Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France
