I am trying to get information on John Cotter Shanacashel Kilmichael Macroom Co Cork,He married a Margaret Hickson in Kilmichael in 1826,I am a decendant of theirs. I am trying to find out who his parents were.He is listed as John William and his eldest Child was William so his father was probably William.I can find no birth record as the Kilmichael Parish Records only go back to 1818.He was probably born around 1790 -1800. I also want to find out about his wife Margaret Hickson.Who was she?.I would appreciate any help you can give me.Thanks

hassling . Ok a lot of records have been destroyed in the civil war in Cork in 1900's -- parish records in detail were not recorded till the 1820's- I hope this can assist you -if not throw it in the rubbish can . I wish you the best -nothing is worse than not knowing the answer or something in Ancestral genealogy. I hope sometime you will come back to us with some of the answers you been seeking -Regards - edmondsallan
