I am descended from the Reid gardeners of Niddry Castle (outside of Edinburg). Three Reid brothers (born at Niddry) and families crossed to East Jersey on the "Exchange" in 1683. The brothers were John (author of the "Scots Gard'ner), James (who acquired much of Freehold in Monmouth County, East Jersey - later to be made the County seat by his son and brother), and George (who has been misreported as Andrew in one secondary record after another). Am seeking the Niddry Reid progenitors.
