I have no info to add, but my Montgomery relatives were from Baltimore. Grandfather was Samuel Hugh Montgomery, he had a sister named Irene who resided in Baltimore. Hugh was an itinerant bookkeeper. He married Henriett Bishop of Smithsburg, Md and they had 3 sons. He remarried after Henriett's death ~1910 and moved away, having 3 more sons (names of his second family are unknown). I belive Irene was a spinster. I have no knowledge of Montgomery history before Hugh.
