I am researching African American Phifer family and related families in Arkadelphia, Hot Springs & Little Rock,Arkansas. Also Phifer's in Ashley, Garland, Jefferson, Hot Springs, Pulaski, Union (Phifer's & Fletcher's) and Clark Counties in Arkansas as well as Phifer's in the states of Michigan, Ohio, California, Oklahoma & Georgia.

Can you tell me where your SPEARMAN'S were located? My great grandfather, Walter Samuel Spearman was born in Bowie, TX in 1883. He married a Jean ( last name unknown). She supposedly died. He remarried Elizabeth Eileen HOLMES in 1914 in Edmond, OK. We have a family mystery with Walter Spearman. We are fairly certain he was born Walter Samuel Bozeman and changed his name to Spearman. He had 3 aunts, all Bozemans, whom all married SPEARMANS.

My SPEARMAN'S are from Arkansas. I have no record of Walter Samuel Spearman or Samuel Spearman from Texas. I know that some of the residents of Clark County, Arkansas moved to Oklahoma, but not information on what families as of this time.
