I am researching my grandfather's family(on my mother's side) but all we have is his and his father's name possible where they could have originally lived and were he was believed to have pass away at. Where do I begin with my research?

I have made family charts and have interviewed my ailing grandmother his wife but being that she has dementia; it's hard to tell what information is accurate. My grandfather passed away when my mother was two years old and finding out more about her father's family would bring some peace to her heart and our family. My grandfather had one sister but she has passed away as well and her children don't remember much about her. If anyone can provide us with any assistance on this enduring but well worth it all reseach journey we all would greatly appreciated it.

You didn't say if your Grandmother's Dementia was Alzheimers, but if it is her long term memory would be reasonably accurate, it is the short term memory that goes first. I'd start with what she has given you and see where it leads. I've worked a lot with that sort of patient and it is really amazing what they can recall.
