If you are refering to John DICKEY born in Belfast, Antrim, Ireland in 1703 and died in Newberry, South Carolina on the 13 February 1789.

The son of George DICKEY 1664-1730 and Margaret WALKER 1690-1759

In 1737 he married Martha McNEELY she was born in Antrim, Ireland 1706 and died at Bullock Creek, York, South Carolina in 1805. The daughter of George MCNEELY 1680-1780 and Sarah RUTLEDGE 1685-1785

They came to Virginia in 1737 and settled in Albemarle county on Mechanic River opposite Rockfish Gap in South Mountain. He obtained land there on 25 June 1747. The place was sold 30 November 1771 to Barlett Bennett. From there they went to York, South Carolina.

The children of the marriage as far as I can make out (please source)were:-

Jane 1738-1763, John 1740-1801, George 1742-1817, Ebenezer 1744-1784 Robert 1745-1817 Alexander 1746-1835 David 1747-1823 Mary Eleanor 1747-1834 David 1749-1750 Susannah 1751-1784 Polly 1753-1754 Mary 1753-1834 Martha 1756-1821 and William 1756-1848

Our John Dickey was born enroute from Belfast, Ireland to the US (PA, I think) in 1724. If that info is correct, he married Rachel Tanner and they had a son named Samuel, born in Rowan Co., NC, 1753.I have the rest of this line to the present. I also have seen info that John was married to a Mary Luney/Looney.
I have looked for years trying to find out John's parents' names. I think I've decided that George and Margaret were his parents but I find two birth and death dates for both George and Margaret but with some of the same children listed for both date sets.

If you think my John could be your John, please contact me for the lineage info I have.
