i dont know much about my family at all thats why im trying to get started

where where you born?

i was born in tasmania my fathers name was alfred george devine my mother was dorothy loreen devine her maiden name was smith

Alfred George DEVINE 1927-1997 lived in Mary Hope Rd., Rosetta, near Glenorchy, Tasmania. He had at least 2 brothers, David Edward and Patrick Joseph. From a quick look around I see his father was William Henry DEVINE, born about 1898 in Scottsdale, Tasmania. William Henry DEVINE joined the 40th Batt. AIF at Claremont, Tasmania on the 24 April 1917. He was only 19 and a half and stated his father was dead. His mother signed his permission to join up, Her name given as Ethel May O'Keefe from New Norfolk. She was also listed as next of kin. William Henry DEVINE was still living at 21 Mary Hope Rd., Rosetta in 1967 when he signed a stat dec. declaring he lost his service medals at son's house in Box Hill during the Tasmanian bushfires. Possibly the home in Mary Hope Rd., was passed on down through the family.
I think Alfred George DEVINE married Dorothy Loreen Smith 1946-1989 sometime in the 1960s.
