Below is a newspaper article online from as recently as 4 December 2010
"...Official accounts put the number of dead in the Pearl Harbor attack on Dec. 7, 1941, at 2,402 - 2,345 military and 57 civilians. Some unofficial accounts put it at nearly 3,000. The following is a list of the 1,177 men who died aboard the USS Arizona that day. ..."
