Ivin

Query by TrudyDrumm

I am looking for info on Alfred Edward Ivin.

The info that I have is he was born in Melbourne, Australia bout 1890 & he died New Zealand 1966.
He was married to Leah Domb in 1912 New Zealand & they had 3 children that I no of.

I'm looking for info on him & his family from Aussie & New Zealand.

The spelling may be different before they moved to NZ as on the ship misspelt it to what it is now.

Tk u 4 that Tonkin. I was told that its spelt either Ivin or Irvin so not 100% sure or the spelling in Aussie as when the family came to NZ the Captain of the ship they came on misspelt their surname as it's now Ivin.

I V I N
was the spelling used in the Australian and New Zealand records so we can accept it was the correct spelling.

George and Elizabeth had six children in New South Wales between 1886 and 1895 and must have gone to New Zealand after 1895. At least three of their children, including Alfred, were married in New Zealand. They all married under the surname of IVIN.

The 1912 New Zealand marriage certificate for Alfred Edward IVIN and Leah Golden DOMD should confirm Alfred's birth details, including parents names. It's always quicker to obtain the odd certificate to confirm family connections. If you are documenting your family history you will need certificates to confirm your blood lines.

I've only searched a few records during the day to get a line on the family.
Hope this helps for now.

Cheers.
