James Charles/ Clarence Owen

Journal by Bojay

Hi All, Trying to trace the above person, my great grandfather (paternal) who emmigrated to NZ from Glasgow aboard the ship VIOLA, landed at Auckland in April 1865. . At that point of
time we lose track of him. He then turns up in the Victorian goldfields in Bendigo, not sure when or how. We believe he ran a butcher business, and had a son James Charles/Clarence Owen who later worked in Bendigo as a blacksmith and possibly also as a miner. James Jnr, later left for NZ and in 1919 married my Grandmother Florence Ada Proctor. Looking to trace my Great Grandfathers roots. Any information regarding this relative would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Bojay

MARRIAGE.

Groom: James Clarence OWEN.
Bride: Florence Ada PROCTOR.
Year married: 1919.
Place: New Zealand.
Ref: Registry of Marriages, N.Z. Reg. #2838/1919.

I expect this will be the marriage details for your James and Florence married in 1919.

If you have obtained the marriage certificate for James and Florence it would help if you included a few more details. Their ages when married, and parents names will assist greatly with record searches.

Cheers.

Thanks for the reply. I have sufficient information on James Clarence Owen Jnr, my grandfather. I am trying to gather information on my great grandfather, James Clarence Owen Snr, who was born in 1838. We have very little information on him, hence the original inqury. Thanks,
Bojay
