- she marrid James Nelson GALLAN in 1909
- she died in Dunedin in 1970 age 88

1883-? Mary McKean Cherry
- Mary married George William Henry SMART in 1910
- George died in 1918 aged 35
- Mary may have remarried, nothing found

1885-1961 Daniel Cherry
- he married Margaret Robinson McKINNON in 1909
- he died in 1961 aged 76

1887-1963 James Cook Cherry
- he married Lavinia Margaret ARGUE in 1914
- he died aged 76 in Dunedin

1891-1970 William Alexander Cherry
- he married Elsie Eveline JACKSON in 1920
- Elsie was a daughter of James Hayter Jackson jnr and Sarah Emily BENNETT
- he died in 1970 aged 79

thank you to Dennis and his message 2 July 2011:
... You list a "Damiel" Cherry born 1885, however, his name was "Daniel". I suspect a typo. But, it thru me off. I'm descended from William Alexander Cherry (Maternal Grandfather).

My records show that they arrived in NZ on August 4, 1979
(sic 1879) on the Napier. The registrar recorded their family name spelling as Cherrie, vs. Cherry. I have found corresponding records to convince me this is the family I've been searching for ...
