James Cook -- GA (not Capt. Cook)

I am researching the James COOK line that possibly began in TN -- but most likely in GA. James was born in TN or GA both states show up on census. I know he was in GA before 1837. One descendent removed to TN into Hamilton County (Chattanooga). I have little info on James and no information on his parents. Here is what I have so far.

James COOK, b. ca. 1813 in TN, d. between 1852-1860
in GA. Married Martha (?) b. 1815 in GA.
Children:
1. Gracy M. b. ca. 1837
2. John B. b. ca. 1839
3. William M. b ca. 1842
4. ** David R. b. 1844 (my GGfather)
5. James R. b. ca. 1849
6. Mary E. b. ca. 1852

COOK, David Ross, b. 15 Apr 1844 in GA., m. Martha
A. BROWN 13 Nov 1866, d. (?). They had 5 children:
1. Georgia L, b. 24 Jun 1868, m. Charles A. VAUGHN
13 Nov 1889, d. 26 Feb 1908.
2. Lemmah (Lemeh), b. 06 May 1872, d. 19 Jul 1875
3. Edwin Ross, b. 10 Mar 1875, d. 11 Aug 1876
4. D.C., b. 10 Nov 1877, d. 10 Jul 1880
**5. Oscar Earl (Sr.), b. 07 Aug 1883(5) in Fulton Co., GA, m. Lucy Norma ZIEGLER 23 Oct 1912 in Chattanooga, TN, d. 08 Sep 1955 in Chattanooga. They had one child:
1. Oscar Earl Cook, Jr.

Oscar Earl (Sr.) was my grandfather; Oscar Earl Jr. was my
father.
