John Kent married Sarah Margaret Benfer in Jersey Co., IL. Together they had: California Kent and Signora Kent. According to information that I have found (true or not), John also had two more daughters: Jennette Kent and Leonora Kent. I don't know if the latter children are Sarah's or not. In 1870, in IL, John married Elizabeth Mayfield and had more children: Clarence Kent(my great grandfather), Ida Kent, Liddia Kent, and Amasa Kent. The last info I have on John and Elizabeth is the 1880 Census-OtterCreek Township, Jersey Co., IL.

mdsloger on 2012-04-14 16:34:35Clarence Calvin Kent is my great grandfather also, (Father of Ethel Fae Kent Miller, my grandmother from Enid, Oklahoma) and I am trying to get more information on his history. His father, John Kent is the one I would like to have more history on. I think his father was Samuel, orginally born in Vermont and nis mother was Mary Noble. thoughts?
camey1201 on 2019-06-20 02:29:58I have seen where some trees have Samuel and Mary as Johns parents. I am not positive that that is correct because on a few of the trees it has Johns birthplace as Vermont. He was born in Ohio and his parents were born in Vermont.
