John Tait

Journal by LookingForTait

John TAIT, born 2 Feb 1787, in Horncliffe, Norham, Durham, England is my 3rd Great Grandfather, by trade he was a fisherman on the river Tweed. One of his son James TAIT, born 2 Feb 1787, in England is my 2nd Great Grandfather. He immigrated to the United States in the 1830-1840 time period I'm told, although I can't find record of this as of yet. James and Mary TAIT had six children. By trade he and his three sons all worked in the railroad industry. The first children were three daughters, Margaret J, Elizabeth, and Mary Ella, all born in Ohio, then came James and John also born in Ohio, and the last, my Great Grandfather Charles Edward TAIT was born 20 Jul 1866 in Amboy, Lee, Illinois. The family emigrated to Parsons, Kansas in the 1880's. My Great Grandfather started his family, in Golden Colorado and I am the grand-daughter of his only son Edward Charles Tait, born 10 Nov 1913 in Golden Colorado.

I will post more specific information, as I'm interested in more than just dates. I want to know of any family stories and to located distant cousins if at all possible. I've had little information to start this amazing journey with, and I am love with this process! I always welcome conversation and sharing with others "Looking For TAIT."
