Joseph Newton Clark

Query by nylorac

We are looking for family info on Joseph Newton Clark, believed to have been born about 1870 in Flora, Clay County, Illinois (although some think it was in one of the Dakotas)and died about 1940 by drowning in the Yuba River in northern California. His body was never found. He married Viola R. Franklin in St. Maries, Kootenai Co., Idaho and lived in Idaho where his first 6 of 9 children were born. The family then moved to California. His children are: Viola Josephine 1917 1926, Virginia Lucille 1919 2006, Genevieve 1921 2008, John 1924 1924, Joseph Franklin 1924, Richard Alvin 1926 1973, William Ellson 1930, James Albert 1937 and Robert Allen 1937 (Jamesa and Robert are twins). We have been unable to prove who his and his wife's parents were. Any help would be appreciated.
