My third g-grnfr was born in County Mayo, Ire. in 1770. He came to the US @1787/8 at the age of 18, landed in Maryland. His name was Raymond Burroughs. He left Maryland after several years went to Georgia, Richmond area. Fought in the War of 1812 as a 2nd Lt. Married Elizabeth Harris Foster there then they moved on to Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

My main problem is I have researched the family from Raymond down to me. I have tried to research for his father and mother and on up I have hit a solid brickwall. I have traced several lines of Burroughs' from Scotland, Ireland, England, Wales, etc... etc... to find him and his family but too no avail...

He could have met a Burroughs family in Maryland, I can't find him on census' or other records until he shows up in marriage, military, and census records in Georgia and Alabama...

Any help greatly appreciated!
