| Frances Rebecca Reddrop was born May 1855 in Stretton, Cheshire, England.
Her parents both (both of Cheshire) William born 1816, Margaret Williams born 1816, were married in Malpas, Cheshire on 22nd Feb 1836.
The Reddrop family of eleven,(Frances aged 7 years old) departed Liverpool in the ship "GREAT BRITAIN", arriving in Melbourne in April 1863.
Unfortunately William passed away in July 1863, the family purchasing farming property in Malmsbury, Victoria. (94k/m north west of Melbourne, on the Calder Highway)
Frances married Matthew Bourke (Rick Silverwood's great grand father) on24th January 1876, at St. Johns Church of England in Malmsbury, living near the family home.
They had nine children, one of which was my grand father, William, born in Elmore Victoria, in 1882.
Matthew applied to train as a school teacher on 1st July 1868 in Burke shire (near Malmsbury), A fully trained teacher 14th October 1872.
He taught in Drummond, (near Malmsbury)Elmore, Mansfield and Ballarat, retiring, due to ill health on 22nd June 1894.
Frances passed away in 1915, in North Brunswick, Victoria.
Matthew passed away in 1917, in Brunswick, Victoria. |
