I started doing genealogical research a months ago after retiring in June, 2007. I have found more than I ever expected and am definitely bitten by the "genealogical research bug". I am currently looking for information about my father's family (Morris and Riggs from Pamlico county/craven county, North Carolina). My great-great-grandfather was Samuel Morris (g-g-grandmother, Marian Morris). They were born about 1815 to 1825 in North Carolina, I believe. Another great-great-grandfather was Jessie L. Riggs (wife, Patsy Jones Riggs). THey were born about 1820 to 1830, probably in North Carolina. They all were likely from the area of Craven/Beaufort/Pamlico counties.

I haven't heard of a line as far back at AD6 either, but my RIGGS line does go back at least to the 1500's in England. Haven't tried to find anything beyond that. My RIGGS line also has MORRIS in it. I believe somewhere there is a relationship between the RIGGS line in Craven County and the RIGGS line of Surry County but, to my knowledge it hasn't been found as yet. If you are interested in any of the Surry Co. NC RIGGS please contact me. EDWARD RIGGS and JESSE RIGGS went to Western NC/Tennessee in the 1770's and settled. Hmmm 'AD6' you say? My, that most definitely is the earliest I heard mentioned for a family tree online!
