Looking for my mother Shirley Von Hoflinger's ancestry. My grandfather was Andreas Hoflinger who was brought up Catholic In Vienna he was born abt 1887 his father was unk but mother was Catherine Roth Andreas ancestry goes back in the 1500's when the king gave his grt grt grt grandfather a title in Austria, Andreas left the Catholic Church to marry Selma Irmgard Schmidt who was a Luthern both were accomplished musicians and when the first Gymnasium was opened they taught and played in concerts, Andreas was a synphony conductor and Selma until her death was an accomplished violinist who taught many children to play. My grandparents held the title baron and Baronest and during the war the records of my family were destroyed.
I am looking for any information. Selma passed away in 1995. Her family were Schmidt Von Haslach und Purnbach's I am hoping someone in Hungary will help me with information on my family. My mother is now as of novemeber be 80 years old. She grew up in a girls school due to my grandparents status.
