Hi Alice Ann,
Yes we are related our great grandfathers would have been 1st cousins which makes us fourth cousins I think. Have you seen your grandfathers war records on the National Archives of Australia website. His service number is 4748. He enlisted in Lithgow.I have a lot more info on the Leers and a little on the Scaysbrooks. I will send you a personal message tomorrow.Did you see the post I put on John Scaysbrook and Maria Ferris? I could not find Alice Maud's birth so I am guessing she maybe changed her name from Alice Maria when she married.Thats if I am right?
Cheers cousin
Best wishes
Shauna
Hi Shauna
Good to know we are related. Could you back up a little and tell me, who is Alice Maria? This is wonderful to get all this information on Alice Maud Scaysbrook [my great grandmother] as I have a ring and bracelet that belonged to her, and as strange as it may sound I feel close to her, dont know why, she died before I was born.[weird].
No I havent seen the post on John and Maria yet also I havent seen grandads war records either, but I will, thanks to you.
Talk soon cousin

Hi,
Iam looking for information on my great grand parents. Alice Maud Scaysbrook and James Joseph Leer. Met in London, married and moved to Australia. I have been told James came from Philadelphia or at least was on a boat trip from America when he met Alice in London.
Hope you can help.
Alice Ann.
