I am descended from John Dore (1745-1828) and Martha Brice (1745-1806). They lived in the Wychwood area of Oxfordshire and their descendants married into other local families such as; Pratley, Scarrot, Townsend, Whiting, Empson, Lainchbury. These descendants lived and worked around Leafield, Ramsden, Finstock mostly as agricultural labourers and often their wives making gloves.
Although Martha Brice's line has been traced back to William Brice (1490)who married Alice Yate, John Dore is a dead end.
His marriage in Shipton-under-Wychwood indicates that he is 'of the parish' but no baptism has been found in any other local parish.

I am trying to find out if he came into the area from large DORE populations such as in London, Hampshire or the Isle of Wight.
