I am trying to trace birthplace of James Madge, born about 1875, possibly in Devon, England.

He had two children - James (1904)and Ida (1906?) and lived in Lambeth, London in that period.

He later left for Singapore and worked there for a British company called "Gammon Malay" as a "Clerk of Works" on the harbour extensions in the 1930s.

He married a second time (his first wife died in 1935) and was evacuated to India ahead of the Japanese invasion in 1941?

He died in Calcutta, India in the late 1940s.
