According to my grandfather, we came to South-Africa as two brothers who split up upon ariving ashore.Well,I don't know the rest but would like any info I can get.

My dad(Rudolph Hendrik Sonnekus) married my mom(Gertruida Anna Lotz) somewhere in 1975.I know now that there is quite a few Sonnekus's around but like some surnames I fear most of them are not born into it rather than married to them.

I think that we might be from "Jan van Riebeeck's" ships and as far as I know we all speak Afrikaans.
