Profile Research Contact | I am the eldest surviving descendant in the Skegness-Winthorpe area of Sainte Thomas Merrill (1786-1853), who was born, died and burried in Winthorpe (St. Mary's) along with his father Thomas Merrill (1751-1827), Thomas father was William Merrill (ca. 1719-1786) and he may have been the son of another William Merrill, but there is no proof of this. Sainte Thomas was the grandfather of Elizabeth Winifred Merrill (1856-1923), daughter of William Merrill (1821-1928). She was the wife (and mother of his children), of my great grandfather Thomas Barker (1852-1924). The Merrills have numerous collateral branches in Alberta, Canada; Utah, USA and Australia as well as remaining branches in England. My interests are mainly in trying to extend my ancestry past the 18th. century into the 17th., 16th., 15th., ceturies and beyond if possible.
