Michelle,
I have Ellen Bray's parents as William Bray and Ann Barrett married at Parish of Lanivet, Cornwall 23/05/1819 signed by "Their Marks" Witnesses Wm Barrett, John Mannell.
Parents names on Ambrose Bray's Death Certificate as above.
Ambrose died first 20 Jan 1879. The burial plot was purchased by Sarah Crammond (Harper) and her husband George Crammond. An adjoining plot was also purchased. Ellen Harper (Bray) is buried in this plot she died 26 Sep 1888 age 58 (Had 11 children!). Also buried here is George Crammond died 6 Jun 1896 and his wife Sarah Crammond (Harper) died 3 Aug 1943 age 81 and their son Corp James Crammond killed in action in France 19 Jul 1916 age 25. The only name missing from the headstone is Ambrose Bray's however the cemetery has the record that he is buried in this grave.
I believe the following family is Ellen's.
The 1841 Census, Parish of Gwennap, Enumeration District 18, Book 11, folio 13, page 23, Tolcarne,1, has an Ann Bray 55, widow (crossed out) born in county, Josiah Bray, 22, Miner, born in county, William Bray, 19, born in county, James Bray 12, born in county, Ellen Bray 10, born in county and Ambrose Bray 7, born in county.
Ellen is not on any other census' after 1841.
I have not proven yet if Eliza Bray (also on the Cressy) is related ie sister or not. She is certainly not mentioned on the above census.
I will send you a copy of Ambrose's Death Cetrticate unfortunately I cannot put my fingers on it at present. My filing syustem is all over the place.
Henry James Harper (Ellen's husband) is buried at Welshman's Reef, Victoria he died 17 Jan 1877 before Ellen and her brother Ambrose.

Veronica,
Who do you have as Ellen's parents? I have to admit, I've always been keen on the name James Trewartha Bray as well!! How does the burial help with identifying parents and do you have any info on the brother Ambrose?
Cheers,
Michelle
