Thomas O'Donnell married Sarah Prentice (May) Dunning

Sarah's parents were William Dunning (BDM records show Alexander as her father and Prentice Elizabeth Reynolds as her mother)and Elizabeth Jane Prentice.

Thomas's parents were Thomas O'Donnell and Elizabeth Walker

Thomas and Sarah had 15 children.
Six girls and nine boys.


Elizabeth Thelma O'Donnell- Known as Thelma. Married… Anson

George Erwin O'Donnell- Known as Herb. Born 31/10/1915. Died 25/5/1993 at Kyabram aged 77.

Edna O’Donnell married William (Bill) Cormican.

Thomas Walker O’Donnell. Born 10/5/1914 at Dookie and died 9 days later on 19/5/1914 at Yabba North. DRN 5286.
He was a twin with William James.

William James O’Donnell. Born 10/5/1914 at Dookie and died aged 2 months old at Yabba. DRN 9358.
So they lost both twin boys within weeks of birth.

Rita Eileen O’Donnell married…Hosie

Another son they named Thomas...
Thomas James O’Donnell married Caroline Mary Williams.

Dorothy O'Donnell- Known as Dorrie. Married R. (Mick) Cormican

Gordon Louis O’Donnell. Born Benalla. Born 11th August 1923. He died aged 59 in 1983 at Benalla. DRN 09122. Gordon was married to Betty.

Stanley William O’Donnell. Born Benalla 11th August 1923. Died aged 61 in 1984 at Benalla DRN 20570. Stan was married to Lavinia Beggs
Stanley and Gordon were twins.

Leslie O'Donnell- Known as Les.

Lorna O’Donnell married Don Opie.

Norman Ernest O’Donnell born..1929? and died aged 2
in 1931 at Katamatite. DRN 4837

Mona O’Donnell.Married W.Irvine

Raymond O’Donnell- Known as Ray

Sarah Prentice O'Donnell died at Yabba, Victoria in 1961 aged 72.
DRN 685.

Thomas was born in Shepparton on 15th November 1876 and died aged 90 years old on 14th January 1967 in Numurkah.

I will follow up with the other dates of birth and location, marriages dates death dates and locations as soon as I can from my research at the Benalla and District Family History Group.

Can you give the dates for Thomas's parents - Thomas O'Donnell and Elizabeth Walker? Also possibly who their parents were? Are they related to our O'Donnell line?

George Walker married an Elizabeth in Ireland. They had a daughter Elizabeth born 1840 in Tyrone, Ireland. She married Thomas O'Donnell. I don't have a death date as yet. Can check into that.

Thomas was born in 1843 at Omah County Tyrone, Ireland. He died 1st September 1910 at Shepparton and is buried at the Pine Lodge Cemetery. DRN 10754.

Thomas and Elizabeth had 11 children I think. I have the names here. Think you might already have them.

Thomas's parents were Hamilton Lewis O'Donnell and Emily Jane Todd.

So they are part of my family tree. There were 4 sons in this family. Richard Willis, Thomas,
John James and Hamilton Lewis.

We both descend from Hamilton Lewis.

Marriage between Thomas and Elizabeth Walker took place in 1864.
