I just saw the surname MATANGI. Interestingly, some of my niece's ancestors were MATANGI from Picton, Marlborough, New Zealand.

You know, interestingly enough, after I wrote that I took an interest in him and have been doing some research on the net ever since . . .
VERY INTERESTING, maybe I will do a little write up of him one day and post it somewhere because I am sure there would be people interested.
Whilst doing this research -because of course I have nothing else to research!!! :)) - I will keep a look out for your nieces ancestors if you give me her name
