Daniel Shirley Hutchins (son of James Toll Hutchins & Jane Shirley) was married in 1849 to Caroline Frankcom (daughter of Thomas Frankcom & Elizabeth Burrough)at Moreton Bay, Queensland. They had 7 children - Mary Sophia (married Henry Hutchins), George Daniel (married Elizabeth Jane Splatt), William Thomas, Martha Ann (married James Elgar Ellis), Ellen (married Thomas Henry Battersby), Charles James Herbert, Ernest Edmund (married Mary Jenkins). Their eldest daughter, Mary Sophia, was born in Moreton Bay in 1850, but the family had moved to the Hawthorn area in Victoria by the time their second child, George Daniel was born in 1853.
