I am a Canadian researching my mother's paternal roots. I do know that her grandfather, Patrick McGreevy and his wife Cecilia (Campbell) were born in Ireland (Patrick born 1814 or 1816). I'm presuming that they emigrated to North America because of the famine in the 1840's. I'm also presuming that they came to Ontario, Canada; however, I'm not sure (they may have first gone to the USA).

There is a possibility that they were from the Mourne region in County Down. Any information about McGreevy ancestors would be most appreciated.
