Harriet Calladine (b. abt 1829) was the mother of Gervase Calladine who was born 18 February, 1851 at Beetwell Street, Chesterfield - father not stated.

Harriet married William Lomas 8 November, 1854. William's father's name was shown as Joseph Lomas, Hatter. Harriet's father's name was shown as Thomas Calladine, Earthernware dealer. After they married in 1854 Harriet and William disappeared. I can't find any trace of them.

Gervase (he became known as Jervis or Jarvis) married Susannah Brelsford (Brailsford) on 1 July, 1872 in Chesterfield - Jarvis' father not stated.

Jarvis and Susannah emigrated to Australia - Susannah in 1890 together with six children and Jarvis several months before (I can't find his arrival date).

1851 Census records show Jervese (another spelling) as a grandson living with Thomas Calladine and Mary (Bostwick or Bostoc) along with their daughter Harriet. Jervese was one month old. The 1861 census lists Jervese as the son not grandson of Thomas and Mary.

Details on Jervis' Death Certificate in Australia were supplied by his son Charles Thomas Caladine who was 17 when they arrived in Australia. Charles stated that his father's name was Jervis Lomas but that Jervis was known by his mother's surname. He gave Jervis' father's name as John Lomas and Jervis' mother's name as Harriet.

Can anyone help me find out what happened to Harriet Calladine or William Lomas?
